True to her nature, Windows ME-tan is just as clumsy.

Windows Vista is the successor to Windows XP. Or is it? After it’s launching in January 2007, one tend to think it’s a better Operating System then XP. Well, from a technical point of view, yes, it’s definitely better. However, from a usability point of view, upgrading to Vista is not a good idea at this early stage, even though it’s almost 10 months since Windows Vista has been launched.

• Price : The price for Vista Home Edition is more or less around RM 899. While other editions are above RM1k. That’s pretty expensive. For the price, I would rather buy a Core 2 Dual processor, which is more worthwhile.
• Vista-ready Software : Because of the price point above, one must see if there are softwares that is Vista-ready. And so far, not many software are compatible with Windows Vista and not many have come up with version ready for Windows Vista. Although these compatibility issues are being addressed, the progress seem some what slow.
• It is worth the upgrade? factor : Windows Vista comes with much bells and whistles all around, but it’s hardware requirement means that older computers won’t be able to support it. This is obvious as when software is updated, the hardware requirements also increases, but when only Microsoft approved hardware is recommended for use with Windows Vista? It’s it worth it to fork out those extra money to get them?

The above are the 3 main reasons why people should not upgrade to Windows Vista yet. Wait. It might be nice to use Vista for bragging rights and some other reasons. However, practicability wise, it’s not worth the effort and money to upgrade to Windows Vista at the moment. Windows XP still is the better Operating System for the moment. That is until either the problems with Windows Vista is solve or another better Operating System comes up. Until then, it would be better to continue using XP. Wait until Windows Vista matures in like another one years time.
